Rob Howard | Managing Member
Rob Howard brings 30 years of construction and field leadership to Apex Engineered Metals, with experience spanning multifamily communities, commercial developments, national retail programs, and complex site infrastructure.
The Apex approach
Throughout his career, Rob has held leadership roles on projects valued up to approximately $80 million, including several in the $50–$70 million range. His background includes 250- to 400-unit multifamily developments, podium and garden-style apartments, and approximately $300 million in construction work completed during his tenure as a Walmart construction manager.
His experience extends from estimating and preconstruction through field execution and closeout. As a former Director of Estimating and Preconstruction, Rob led bidding, subcontractor qualification, buyouts, contracts, and schedule development. In senior field roles, he coordinated construction teams, managed critical-path schedules, and implemented quality-control and safety programs.
At Apex, that experience shapes how we approach roofing: clear scopes, coordinated schedules, accountable field execution, and organized project handoff. Rob understands what general contractors, developers, and owners need from their roofing partner—and builds those expectations into the way Apex operates.
Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, Florida Certified General Contractor and Certified Roofing Contractor licenses, and a Class A General Contractor license in the Kansas City area. He has also completed OSHA 30 training.
The projects and program values described here reflect Rob’s career experience, including prior employers; they are not presented as Apex’s completed project portfolio.
